Element provides therapy solutions in the comfort of the patient’s home, wherever that home may be. Upon receiving a clinically certified treatment Plan of Care under Medicare Part B, the Element team steps in to provide functional, evidence-based therapy to the patient.

 

Our accommodating and hands-on approach is centered around the patient’s goals; allowing us to provide meaningful continuity of care, promote independence and support a life well lived.

Shane Gaukel, RN, COO

Blue Gradient Divider

Shane Gaukel joined Element December of 2021 bringing over 20 years of multi-state SNF reimbursement, rehabilitation management and post-acute ancillary business line development experience with him. Prior to joining Element, he served as the VP of Reimbursement and Ancillary Services for a skilled nursing home company where he provided operational oversight and support of rehabilitation services, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and strategic business growth. In addition, he served as the President and CEO of an Iowa based rehabilitation company providing rehabilitation services in skilled nursing facilities and outpatient centers throughout Iowa and Illinois.

 

Further experience includes Vice President of Post-Acute Services for a large LTAC and Rehabilitation company where he developed and implemented a company division managing hospital based skilled nursing and inpatient rehab units. Shane’s extensive experience, innovative mindset as well as his passion for providing exceptional care and services is continuously at the forefront of his approach, serving towards the Element mission.

Casey Morris, SLP, Director of Clinical Operations

Casey Morris has over 20 years of experience in Speech Language Pathology specializing in dysphagia management, communication deficits and cognitive rehabilitation. She has worked in both privately owned as well as for profit and nonprofit outpatient rehabilitation programs, home health agencies and skilled nursing facilities.

 

Under her most recent administrative role as Director of Rehabilitation, she was responsible for the overall supervision, coordination and administration of all therapy activities. This included physical, occupational and speech language services as well the innovation and implementation of new opportunities to grow an outpatient rehab company. Casey is currently licensed by the board of Florida and has her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association.

Christie Colbourne, Director of Credentialing Services

Christie is responsible for creating and launching new Part B outpatient business models. Christie manages Medicare provider enrollment, state licensure requirements as well as Medicare Part A and Part B credentialing execution.  She works closely with Human Resources and Recruiting during the onboarding of staff as well as collaborates with Finance on revenue cycle management and client billing.  Christie also implements and oversees third party client support for Part B business models.

 

Prior to joining Element, Christie spent over 12 years in the pharmaceutical industry gaining valuable experience in a multitude of chronic therapeutic areas to improve patients’ lives. Christie is an expert in understanding the continuous evolvement of the credentialing space while ensuring compliance execution with passion and energy.

Kathleen Parisian, OT, Executive Clinical Leader

Kathleen Parisian is an accomplished Executive Clinical Leader and Occupational Therapist with a passion for providing quality care for seniors. She joined Element March of 2023 bringing over 20 years of
clinical, compliance and denials experience in the post-acute healthcare industry. Prior to joining Element, she served as the VP of Clinical and Compliance for a skilled nursing home and outpatient
therapy company with responsibilities including clinical performance and quality improvement, regulatory compliance, risk management, and denials management. She provided strategic, results-oriented leadership and direction to the clinical and compliance teams, provided oversight of the delivery of positive patient care services, and ensured compliance with regulatory requirements.


Kathleen has extensive experience with Federal and State regulatory requirements, clinical reimbursement, clinical standards and Medicare Compliance. She has served as a Compliance Officer in the post-acute care environment to address compliance issues, mitigate risks, and maintain overall ethical and legal integrity. She is currently an active member of many healthcare associations including AOTA, HCAA, NARA, and NASL/AHCA.
